We collect information you provide directly and information generated through your use of the platform:
- Business & contact details: business name, trading name, registration number, VAT number, industry, physical address, and your name, email, and phone number.
- Funding request details: turnover range, months trading, tax compliance status, province, funding purpose(s), amount needed, urgency, and your funding target.
- Application details requested after a match: director/owner identity (full name, ID number, residential address, ownership %, contact), and business banking details (bank name, account number, branch code, account holder).
- Documents you upload to support your application (e.g. financials, bank statements, IDs).
- Electronic consent records: your signature image, privacy consent acceptance, and audit metadata (timestamp, IP, user agent).
3. How We Use Your Information
We process your personal information to operate the BridgeX matching service, specifically to:
- Match your business profile against the eligibility criteria of NCR & FSP registered lenders on our panel.
- Prepare, populate, and sign lender application forms and assemble supporting documents on your behalf.
- Submit your completed application and documents to matched lenders by email (or via the lender’s own application channel where applicable).
- Communicate with you about your application status, required documents, and lender responses.
- Calculate, track, and record any commission or raising fees due to BridgeX from lenders.
- Maintain audit records, prevent fraud, and comply with legal and regulatory obligations in South Africa.
4. Legal Basis & Consent
We process your information on the basis of your consent (given when you accept this policy and sign your application), to take steps at your request to enter into and perform a funding arrangement, and for our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the platform. You may withdraw consent for future processing at any time by contacting us, though withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out.
6. Data Retention
We retain your application records, uploaded documents, and audit trail for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which they were collected, including for the duration of any funding relationship and the regulatory record-keeping period that applies in South Africa, after which they are deleted or anonymised unless we are legally required to retain them longer.
7. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse, including access controls on administrative views and encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information consistently with South African data protection standards.

Because you own your application record, you can update details directly from the applicant portal at any time before submission.
